ATC uses Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) with an emphasis on the Discrete Trial treatment model.

We specialize in this approach because it is backed by research, indicating that children who begin intensive treatment between 2 and 4 years of age can substantially reduce symptoms and improve communication and socialization by the time they enter first grade.  We incorporate aspects of other treatment models when we believe specific techniques will be beneficial to particular children.

We use discrete trial to teach skills to children in a reinforcement-based approach.  Discrete trial is a technique that involves breaking skills down into their most basic components, teaching each component separately and then gradually chaining components together until a skill is mastered.  Discrete trial can be used to teach communication skills, academic skills, social interaction skills, daily living skills and age-appropriate play skills.

Our treatment approach is positive and play-oriented. We use discrete trial to teach skills to children in a reinforcement-based approach.
